Love is in the air…
November 23, 2006Jacques and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary yesterday (we’ve been a couple for 4 years now). He surprised me with the most beautiful bunch of red roses — i just need to add that this is the second time in 4 years that I’ve received flowers from him — with the most adorable message.
In Harrismith there’s not much to do on occasions like this. We both still live with our parents, so the idea of a private candle light dinner is completely out of the question. We therefore have a choice of three restaurants. The Spur which is a steak house, Pringle’s which is a pub & grill, or The Green Lantern Inn which is situated about 20 minutes drive out of town and not always open. So eventually we ended up at the Spur. Not the most romantic place, but at least we were on our own.
It’s actually funny, the closest we get to being alone is when we drive around in his car, and we don’t do that much either LOL We’re always surrounded by family, which is not always a bad thing but everyone knows that one needs their privacy as well.
Congrats on your 4 year anniversary… I totally know what you mean about the shortage of “date” restaurants in town… I’ve spent many a “romantic dinner” at Spur!
I’ve never been to the Green Lantern… where’s that? Any good? Ever go to Little Switz with Jacques?1
Thanx my friend! The Green Lantern Inn is at Van Reenen. They have nice food and usually when we go there we are the only customers, so its kinda private.
